Meet the founder
Wally Saad
Founder & Reservoir Engineer
Engineering judgment shaped by major-basin experience, development decisions, and private equity.
Wally founded Phoenician Royalties to help mineral and royalty owners understand the engineering assumptions behind their interests. His work centers on turning production data, well comparisons, and development scenarios into an assessment an owner can examine.
Previously, Wally spent four years as Reservoir Engineering Manager at UpCurve Energy, a private-equity-backed company. His work brought together development strategy, reserve assessments, and engineering analysis for acquisitions and divestitures.
Earlier, he spent seven years at ConocoPhillips, one of the largest publicly traded U.S. exploration and production (E&P) companies, including as a Senior Reservoir Engineer. His work there spanned development and asset performance across multiple basins.
His technical focus includes type-curve development, selecting relevant well analogs, and evaluating the effects of spacing and depletion. At Phoenician, those skills support a clear distinction between existing royalty income and the assumptions required for future development.
